Mt Buller, Australia

Mt Buller is a household name for skiing in Australia from June to October.

Yes — it even snows during summer in the Southern Hemisphere. Located northeast of Melbourne CBD in the Victorian Highlands, it is the closest ski resort to the city. With a diverse range of slopes, Mt Buller caters to everyone from first-time skiers to seasoned professionals.

How to get there?

By Car (Approximately 4 hours 30 mins)

  • Melbourne CBD to Mansfield: ~3.5 hours

  • Mansfield to Mt Buller Entry Gate: ~40 minutes

During snow season, wheel chains are required by law and must be carried in your vehicle. This is essential for safety and compliance.

From Carpark:

  • Free shuttle buses available for day visitors

  • Paid shuttle services operate for overnight guests staying on-mountain

Only residents of the Mt Buller property can drive to the ski resort.
